Idyllic garden and house in Falsterbo

 

 

In this beautiful house, with the idyllic garden having more than hundred different roses, lives the Swedish couple David and Madeleine. The house was built in 1901 by a bank director and was kept in the same family for three generations before the couple bought it. It is located in Falsterbo and was the third summerhouse there, before the town became a real holiday destination where people spend their summer vacations.

What I remember most from this article in Elle Decoration is that the couple says that people are too anxious nowadays to not have the right furniture or follow the latest trends. This is something that you should not bother about, but just trust your own intuition about what is right for your home. Well said! Just look at the result above by someone following that mindset!

Morsø Forno - the cutest outdoor oven

 

I found such a cute Danish outdoor oven! It comes from Morsø, is called Morsø Forno and must be the nicest oven I have ever seen! Imagine having your summer barbecues with this little fellow. The design is brilliant and it is like a small fireplace, furniture and Instagram-friendly design piece in your garden. If I got it correctly this can be used on the city balcony, too!

Spring and summer by Menu

While winter is raging here with loads of snow I am dreaming myself away with some garden and plant inspiration from Menu's spring and summer collection. I especially like the stand for climbing plants. How clever! It is of the same design as the POV candlestick that I blogged about here and later got for Christmas (and which has still not been nailed to my wall...) These stands I would really like to have for my summer flowers.

The garden chairs and black flower pots I also blogged about last summer but the pots now also seem to come in white. Note also the stylish watering can, which is brand-new!

Beautiful garden

I have seldom showed something from my neighbourhood for you, but yesterday I took a few pictures with my mobile only, when going through this park near my home (some might be a bit awry as I could harldy see the screen in the sunlight). The beautiful garden lies just one block away. It is a real oasis and place for resting your mind. Have you seen the funny knitted and crocheted decorations they have put in the trees? :) The very last picture is from spring, all the rest are taken yesteday, but I wanted to share them all with you. Hope you like them!

I know it is quite late for outdoor inspiration, but here we go. I was kind of uninspired this summer with my balcony due to the bad weather (the summer, which never came), but this is my mental inspiration picture, which I have had in my head...

Beautiful Swedish allotment

 

I was just about to log out and take a long sleep (it is Saturday tomorrow and the week has been busy), and then I saw this beautiful allotment on Lovely Life. I know I could not find any sleep before I share these pictures with you. Such an adorable place and so richly coloured photos! The house and garden belongs to the ceramist Elin Lannsjö and it is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. I especially fell in love with the wild flowery garden and the unique floor lamp! But there are a lot of inspiration details in each picture. See more here and here and let it sink in...

 

I will make a mental note of Elin's garden tips: Mediterranean plants (olive trees, lavender), climbing roses, columbines, poppies, hammock and wicker chairs. The flowers in a few main colours. Success, as you see.

Patio inspiration

 

I made a mood board with inspiration for patio and plants.

I would like to have a watering can that is so nice that it could be at hand and fully visible all the time. The golden one is my favourite, but the black one I would prefer to have on my balcony!

Outdoor lights

It might be too late to put down the outdoor lights now as the ground is too cold for digging, but anyhow wanted to show you some real goodies to light up your façade or garden with during this dark season. Maybe something to put on your wish list? I at least wanted to make this collage to remember my inspiration from this autumn. Some of the lights I have seen by friends, others around the blogosphere lately. So if you have difficulties to find modern, simple and nice outdoor lights, take a look at these. My personal favourite is the wall lamp (which looks black, but is dark grey) and the copper lamp looking like a cone.

Terrace and garden inspiration

Not spending much time inside right now. The weather is for once so hot that you hardly have time to do the dishes inside... Out, out, hurry, because we Scandinvians know that all at once it starts snowing again...So I just enjoy the summer months now and the free time. And of course, I am also dreaming of that perfect terrace and garden. Because the balcony is not very popular right now. Too hot! My pink flower is not feeling very well. Too much or too little water?

Above my best picks of terrace and garden inspiration. Which part do you like most?

The sunny side of life

The birds are singing and I have been thinking about how to furnish my balcony and outdoor areas in general. The ideal would, of course, be to have several groups around a house as none of the chairs really fill all purposes in one go, but if you cannot, it is already a lot trickier. I would like to be able to eat breakfast and lie down and sunbath (with legs and everything) as well as lean my head when sitting! And if you put also the criteria nice and comfortable to this group, you see what I mean. Here are at least some nice findings, if you reduce some demands.

 

And all lovely flowers. I would like to have a real mix of colourful flowers.
