Rosendahl Timepieces

 

 

So happy about my new clock and interior detail! The Station table clock from Rosendahl Timepieces, designed by my favourite designer Arne Jacobsen around 1941. Lovely! I like to have an original piece of Danish design history on my shelf. I have not yet decided where to have it and will probably move it around according to my mood. In my work corner (always sitting too long at the computer), on my bedside table or in the living room. One cool thing is that the clock reacts if you put your hand on top of it and the light comes on. The same goes for the snooze function. Just put your hand above it and it will soon ring again!

Rosendahl Grand Cru series

We have got our first snow here and with that comes also some kind of Christmas feeling. It seems that the snow is melting away already next week so I took the opportunity and served some Christmas glogg in advance with ciabatta, olive bread and salty biscuits with jam. All with my new nice products from the Rosendahl Grand Cru series. I really like them a lot! I looked for new glogg glasses already last year so I was really happy when I found these ones! They are just the right size, transparent and without any ornaments. Clean and simple in the design.

When familiarizing myself with the Rosendahl Grand Cru series, I noticed that they have so many nice everyday details. Simple, clean lines and traditional design to a decent price. When looking through the brochure I wanted everything but above you see my favourite selections. The glogg glasses, cheeseboard (can also be used for bread, fruit, salty biscuits), beautiful cheese-looking cheese knife and glass jars. I was fascinated by the glass jars. Why not put everything in these? Pasta, sugar, muesli...So much nicer than the plastic bags!

Christmas heart by Le Klint

It is November already and we are going with rapid speed towards Christmas and the decorations. I got to think about Le Klint's window decoration, the white heart. Supernice and I think it would look very good in combination with or in contrast to the traditional white paper stars. The hearts are available in different sizes and folded in the same material as Le Klint's other famous lampshades.

 

And why not? You can also use it on special days like birthdays, St. Valentine's Day and weddings. When buying a heart you also contribute to the Love & light project, which support different charitable purposes every year. A hearty thought.

The hearts remind me of those simple red and white or red and green paper hearts that you folded as a kid. Maybe these new ones are just an ennobled and more exclusive variant of those? Hmm. Gave me another old-time idea that I probably would need to suggest for Le Klint...

 

 

Favourite flowers

  

 

I picked these plants with me home earlier this week when visiting the flower store. I could not resist the beautiful hydrangea with tinges of blue, lilac and purple. It puts me in a good mood every time I see it. And imagine. Just o-n-e is needed to lift a whole room!

 

I finally also found the Pilea peperomioides (Swedish Elefantöra ~ elephant ears) with parasol-like leaves. I have heard it is hard to find and suggested it in the flower store last time. And look there. It popped up! Now I have to take good care of it. Hope it will live!

 

The eucalyptus twigs are another favourite.

So simple and stylish.

I am still looking for the great globe thistle (Echinops sphaerocephalus).

I found the most beautiful illustrations yesterday that would all suit so good in a picture gallery on my wall. They are all made by talented Ditte Gjøde.

The first collage shows four nice posters called Glimpse. What a wonderful mixture of colours! The nuances are just so me. They would all match good with Ditte's other black and white posters, for example the forget-me-not poster and the botanical prints.

October mood

 

 

I went nuts when I saw the flowery bomber jacket in a TV- interview today with Izabella Scorupco. A must-have! I am going straight to KappAhl tomorrow after work. Soo stylish!

I also collected some other details for the autumn decoration. Patterns in all forms and directions, dark glass, dark wood, dark colours, concrete and brass.

KitchenAid | A new friend

Let me introduce my new kitchen love - a white KitchenAid! I am so happy about it because I have dreamed of this for such a long time already!

 

Of course I wanted  to test it out immediately upon arrival, and thought for a while what to bake. I decided to go for Leila's blueberry buns, as her recipes never disappoint you. And I can honestly tell, it was a real pleasure to use my KitchenAid. Those were the days when I got stuck with my hands in the dough and could not pour more flour without messing up the whole kitchen. Everything neatly inside the shiny bowl now and I did not have to do anything at all! Just add the ingredients, listen to the baking sound and do the dishes alongside of this. Multitasking in a nutshell. It felt so luxuriously and was so easy-peasy so I will definitely become a baking pro now! I just had to pour a little more flour once in a while and then the dough took care of itself and was soon ready to mould into buns.

 

Of course I also like that the stand mixer is a real beauty in itself and can stand all year round just looking good on the worktop. I think it is one of the most popular American interior details that have gained ground in the Scandinavian design homes.

 

KitchenAid is available in a variety of colours (see all alternatives here) and is a stand mixer of high quality. It was brought on the market already in 1919.

The stand mixer has been rewarded with a lot of design prizes and is exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and San Francisco. And, not the least, in my home!
