News from Danish Hay

Today's design love!

I have for a longer time dreamed of the Hay Plus 9 blanket, maybe in pink. Now Hay has got four new Plus blankets in their newest collection. Wow. I immediately fell for the grey and yellow ones! It will be even harder to choose only one of them now! :-)

Liselotte Watkins's home in Milano

The latest issue (6/2015) of Elle Decoration features the Swedish illustrator Liselotte Watkins's home in Milano, Italy. I could not find any electronic pictures from their site yet, but I could find similar ones on other sites. What I paid attention to most in the magazine article were the unique cone-liked ceramic pots with the cactuses! Something to look for if you visit Sicily as these were part of the ceramic tradition on the island.

I also noted the ceramic jugs that Liselotte had found on flea markets and painted halfway green and pink. Quite an easy DIY tip if you find some suitable old vintage jug, nice in form, but otherwise a bit boring or insignificant. Paint it as if you had threw the jug yourself, in any colour or with dots or stripes on it!

Liselotte Watkins's work is also amazing. I like the cut out paper pieces that forms persons and beautiful, colourful works of art.

Autumn wish list

Maybe you have noticed that the text and pictures have been jumping back and forth inside here. I have struggled for a while with a new layout and finally I think--***^^ I am ready! I am much more content with one sidebar than two and now there will also be bigger pictures, which I hope you like!

Yesterday I was out in the archipelago with my sister and friends and we had one of those really hot, sunny summer days that have been so rare this summer. I forgot both sunglasses and sun lotion, which was a big minus minus. Today it is back to normal again... Some kind of autumn sense in the air and I felt like doing a small autumn collage with nice things on my mind!

1. This sky picture is quite expensive, but I save it as a mental memory. I would like to photograph clouds at the shore, just before a real thunderstorm!

2. Kinfolk publishes an interior book this autumn. It will probably be interesting and has a beautiful cover!

3. I am thinking of the to be or not to be of a windowsill in my living room. I picture a high fig tree on it that would frame my window a bit.

4.  I love the Gräshoppa lamp by Gubi. I would love to have it on my desk during dark autumn evenings.

5. A picture with real autumn mood. In fact, I like rain clouds!

6. Flared jeans are popping up in the stores everywhere. An autumn-must?

7. Beautiful brown autumn shoes!

8. I would like to have this lamp close to some wooden furniture (the colour mix would look so good). I can't get enough of the bright colours on it!

9. I admire this tray with two layers. Perfect for my fruit cravings. My fruit bowls are too full and the piles tend to drop...

At Emma von Brömssen's place

Can you also see or feel it? That here lives an artist? This is the home of the designer Emma von Brömssen. Kristin Lagerqvist has again been on the go with the camera and taken magical summery pictures. Without laying anything in order, styling or arranging the settings, but bringing about a sense of real moments and life. How tired I am of those styled pictures, the usual trend on the blogs.

I got reminded of how "in" all the old-time porcelain is. Odd pieces of plates and bowls à la grandma. I came to think of a marmalade or sugar spoon I got from a relative in my teens. With a lot of frills and ornaments on it. I have to find it! ;)

I also felt that mood awakening, to create something myself. A drawing, card, picture, pattern...I like the motif of the stamp on the wall!

Now I also know which tray is missing from my Svenskt Tenn collection. I did, however, not find it in the webshop.

More inspiration and the whole home can be found here.

Summer mood

My first week of holiday (out of 5) has started! With a bit of unstable weather but nevertheless I feel light-hearted. Freedom to do whatever you like with no timetable at all! What a luxury! Sometimes I  have hard to relax and tend to forget that I am on holiday now and not in a hurry anywhere...I am working on it, though...:) I was thinking that I have more time for the blog now, but surprisinly the first days have just swished by with offline activities. Yesterday I finally bought a new system camera, one of the newest models by Nikon! I am so happy about it! Looking forward to soon be able to share more own pictures on the blog, with better quality than before. But first I have to learn how to use it... At least the buttons.;) What are you up to at the moment, during the best summer days of July?

Above my latest Pinspiration. I am, however, a bit frustrated with Pinterest right now (a real luxury problem, I know). People are following me (I can see this on my email), but the amount of followers are not increasing unless the followers follow all of my boards. This is not the same for other people. I have tested. The support does not give any help. So feels a bit unfair, but what can you do... Any tips? The same for you? I was just thinking how many followers I would actually have. Although I am old enough and should not care about this. :) Anyway, a bug!

Blog tip | Our food stories

I found a new German - English food blog today (thanks Holly for the tip) with beautifully styled food pictures. It is called Our food stories and the bloggers behind it are two Berliners, the fashion designer/food stylist Nora Eisermann and the photographer Laura Muthesius.

What I like most is that they use a mix of Scandinavian tableware and vintage pieces together with a lot of flowers and leaves in the pictures.

The first picture with the letter plates forming the word "food" was a fun idea. I think I never get rid of my hangup for graphic things!

Beautiful Swedish allotment

I was just about to log out and take a long sleep (it is Saturday tomorrow and the week has been busy), and then I saw this beautiful allotment on Lovely Life. I know I could not find any sleep before I share these pictures with you. Such an adorable place and so richly coloured photos! The house and garden belongs to the ceramist Elin Lannsjö and it is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. I especially fell in love with the wild flowery garden and the unique floor lamp! But there are a lot of inspiration details in each picture. See more here and here and let it sink in...

I will make a mental note of Elin's garden tips: Mediterranean plants (olive trees, lavender), climbing roses, columbines, poppies, hammock and wicker chairs. The flowers in a few main colours. Success, as you see.

Lavender

I have bought lavender for my balcony. It is said to manage on the latitude of northern Africa as well, so I see that it has a tiny possibility to survive on my glassed balcony this summer, even though I forget watering it.

I can also see it through a small window in my living room. So the lavender brings joy both outside and inside.

Otherwise I am still waiting for the summer to begin... Hello? Summer, where are you? Mixed up the dates?

Ikea news 2015 and 2016

I happened to stumble across these interesting pictures yesterday with the new collections that Ikea is going to launch later this autumn and also as far ahead as during 2016. The pictures were nicely photographed in a way that I like and the news looked really interesting so I wanted to share them with you. They are taken by Marie Claire Maison during an event in Älmhult earlier this spring where the new upcoming collections were presented. The Sinnerlig collection has circulated quite much in the blogosphere already, but otherwise there were a lot of other interesting news also coming. I was surprised that no one else than the French magazine has yet paid attention to all of these.

Sinnerlig by Ilse Crawford. Available in September 2015.

Skogsta. Available in August 2015.

 Sittning. Available in September 2015.

Viktigt by Ingegerd Råman. Available in May 2016.

Tillfälle. Available in February 2016.

Svärtan by Martin Bergström. Available in August 2016.

Användbar. Available in April 2016.

What I liked most?

The Tillfälle series with the small coffee table with graphic pattern and the wooden stool with black topping! I also liked the Skogsta stool and the Viktigt cane chair in black for outdoor living.

Which one is your favourite?
